Hi guys and gals, welcome
to the May 2006 edition of Windows Vista Updates,
the official newsletter of
Windows-Vista-Update.com.
It's great to meet you guys and get this off the ground.
This
newsletter's objective is to summarize the Windows Vista related events of the
prior month, keep you updated (and entertained) and also give you our perspective on the industry.
A little about me. My name is Onuora Amobi and I am the CEO of a little
company called Nnigma (as in enigma). We are an information design firm and
we specialize in ERP application security (PeopleSoft, SAP) and web design
etc
We built
Windows-Vista-Update.com because we are genuinely excited about the new
operating system Microsoft has lined up and we are curious to see just how
well it's received by the public. We work really hard to get a lot of this
information out to you and we hope that as the months go by, you will continue
to visit our site and share your opinions with us..
Well, enough about me, let's get started ... a lot happened in May...

Window's Vista requirements come into view
When Windows Vista arrives, will you get a first or business class seat,

flavours, and the Starter and Home Basic editions don't include the new
Aero Glass interface, which provides extra features such as live
thumbnail screens that pop up from the taskbar, and Flip 3D, a

Microsoft in Redmond, says: "We think [Aero] is a higher value feature,
so it should be in a higher value product."....

Our
Analysis
|
Vista has been a long and tiring journey
for those of us who watch it for our work. I can only imagine how exhausted
the developers are!!
There has been so much drama about the new features, the release dates,
lawsuits against Microsoft, performance issues etc it seems like a soap
opera.
Here's what we do know. The newest beta looks pretty good although it's
still a performance hog. The User Account Control feature which has been
eviscerated by reviewers is toned down but still a pain in the ass.
There are various opinions about whether the code base is bloated as it
comes on a 3 gig plus DVD (versus a 500 meg XP CD install). For the most
part, the OS has been designed to have a more intuitive look and feel to
it...and they have done a great job with that for the most part.
Microsoft Office 12 (2007) is also looking very good. Please check out
the Beta that is now publicly available..
As things progress and continue to evolve, we will continue to bring you
the news and keep it straight (no BS). We are not (yet) beholden to
advertisers so we can afford to play it straight for now...
If you have any comments or feedback (good or bad) please feel free to
drop us an email and let us know. We love to hear back from you.
