I recently installed Vista Ultimate 64 bit version, to be honest I've had a great experience so far.
I'm running on a PC I built myself and I was pleasantly surprised at how Vista found all my installed components and downloading the latest appropriate drivers was much easier than Windows XP - which would not even connect to the internet until I installed the ethernet driver for my Asus motherboard from the Asus disc.
I've been happy with the performace and lack of bugs I experienced from Windows XP. I'm sure I'll find a whole new set of bugs...but less crashes and smoother start-ups.
Unfortunately, my database software Act! by Sage 2008, Version 10 Not 64 Bit is not 64 bit compatable! After installing testing and running all my software including; ACDSEE Pro, Canvas X, Adobe Photoshop CS3...etc., I finally tried to install Act! by Sage, it would not install, ouch! I visited their website and to my dismay it is clearly states that it is not 64 bit compatable.
Now I'm in a tough dilemma, I guess I now have to reinstall the 32 Bit version to enable my use of my database software...I feel like I'm forced to lower my standard due to Sage's lack of vision. I can't believe a company that makes CRM software has not developed a 64 bit solution!
