Aspect Ratio Question

I am useing Windows DVD Maker and I have installed the newest Vista Codec.

I have selected the 16:9 aspect on Windows DVD Maker but when I burn movies they never come out in 16:9 aspect they always come out with black boxes on left and right.

How can I make them burn in the 16:9 aspect so I can view them in 16:9 aspect. And Yes both of my TV's are HD Wide Screen

Any help would be great
