Concerned for eMachines support - VISTA

by Mark Abrahamson
(Neenah, WI. USA)

I have purchased numerous eMachine Computers in the past.

Every couple of years I have looked forward to the progress in updated software and SPEED. Each purchase was like "magic" in the evolution of my computers speed.

I have "sold" many of my family and friends on this brand due to the reasonable pricing and reliability.

My last purchase was a huge disappointment. It was like I took a step 10 years back in time for the speed of the computer.

I called eMachines and really no remedy exists. If I owned this company the person responsible for ensuring product quality would have been fired!

I cannot believe by regressing in the computer speed its any type of improvement.

My options are now... buy additional RAM.... my thoughts...

- NEVER should have left the factory like this, and I would have expected sharp discounts to a purchaser to buy additional RAM to correct the issue.
- eMachines should never have used the VISTA platform, and since they did purhaps customer support in providing again a coupon or discount on a different operating system like my old faster Windows NT.

Each time including today I log on I am saddened by what appears to be my last purchase of eMachine's Computer.

I feel "let down". I should not have to pay a fee to upgrade and purchase hardware or buy another operating system.

I am "stuck" with this computer for a few more years. But I can gaurentee you I will feel this way on every boot up.

Is this the image you want for eMachines?
