Windows Vista Update

i have had my acer aspire 5570z for about a year and a half now, it had windows vista preloaded onto it when i purchased it...

it was working fine until about a few months ago...periodically the screen would go blank in the middle of me using it, but it would recover after a few seconds and it would be back to normal...then last month...

it started saying that windows was shut down improperly for some odd reason...then it would ask me to start it in safe mode...night before last i was on it and it was fine...yesterday morning i try to turn it on and it says windows could not load...

and it asked me to start it normally or in safe mode...now any mode i choose it still wont load windows vista....the laptop didnt come with a back up...acer and microsoft tech support wants me to pay over as 100 dollars just to TALK to someone to TRY fix the problem...

where do i go from here? i feel i paid enough for the machine..y should i have to pay for its servicing, when i did nothing wrong?
