Connection Problems

I have a Windows hp vista, i have had it for about a year or so and it has been working perfectly fine, a couple days ago it was working perfectly fine i was video chatting and talking to friends and everything was justr fine.

The next day i go on and on the bottom where you can switch off and on the connection it was red and it was moved over to the side where its supposed to be blue which means their is connection and should work.

I turned the computer on and off a couple times and it still stays the same, i tried seeing if its the internet connection well it is but i dont know how to fix it , can you please help me?
