I have also been getting this error and am fast losing aptience with Vista--help please

i, too, keep getting a windows update error message. unable to search for updates, error number, C800044E. have not been able to update since 9/9/09. vista is the worst program ever. i would love to go back to xp but have been advised that my warranty will not be covered if i do.
