Error Codes: 80072EFD & 80240016

HELP!
Windows will not Update. AVG Free Anti-Virus also will not update.
I get error codes, #80072EFD and #80240016? Windows Vista is my O/S. MS Windows Help & diagnostics was of no use.
I am not a Tecnician, I do not have funds for a repair service unless that is the only way I can get my HP Laptop fixed.
