Game - Restart - Logon screen - Changes resolution

4gb memory dual
Vista ultimate x64

this is a pc

I'm playing valve's Half life 2 or any valve games using the SOURCE engine.
I've set the resolution to 1024x768 then I close the game. Restart my PC, then to logon screen then BOOM.... the vista resets my resolution from my DEFAULT (1680x1050) resolution to what the game resolution has which is 1024x768.

My LCD resolution is 1680x1050 (supported resolution)

what i did:

drivers updated
bios updated
tmm disabled
reinstall of everything
system restore

All of the above are suggeted on other forums (all does not work)


A lot of people experiencing this problem....many forums that have the same threads were left unsolved.
