New NIC card
by: Anonymous

My solution was a new NIC card. Soon as I exchanged the card, all was well. :)

Possible solution

This problem sometimes occurs when your account name uses double-byte characters (Chinese, Japanese or Korean). You can solve it quite easily by:
1.Creating another ADMINISTRATOR(!) account which uses single byte (i.e. the Latin alphabet) characters
2.Logging into this account
3.Running Windows Update on this account
4.Installing the updates neccessary and restarting your computer.

After this, you should be able to log in to your original account and use Windows Update normally. You can safely delete the created account.
Since my username uses double-byte characters and I had the same problem, this was exactly my case and it all worked perfectly, no problems now.
