Need help fixing oxc000000f in Vista
by: Anonymous

I've got the same problem. My laptop was working fine until I downloaded the updates for Vista. That was when I got the error message oxc000000f. I didn't have the disks (not supplied when I bought the laptop), so I spent £180 last Saturday to buy Vista. When I tried to load it, it stopped and I got the same error message, oxc000000f. I've been looking on the internet for solutions but haven't found any so far.

When I tried to load the Vista disk, the option to repair was greyed out, it would only let me select a fresh install. This meant loosing all my work, but as I was desperate to get the laptop running I clicked on it. It still stopped with error oxc000000f.

Equally Despaired
by: Roysha

Sorry, can't help you but have been trawling the web everywhere to resolve exactly the same problem and wanted to add my name to this thread as I want everyone to know how hacked off I am!
I'm certain, by not giving people the installation disks, people are making a living by setting their products to fail at a certain point and forcing you to pay them extortion money to put it right.
Anyone I speak to wants an arm and a leg to pull data off the hard drive before I do a clean instal!
