I cannot connect online

I use a wireless conection for my desktop and my acer laptop. but the laptop has recently stopped working for some reason.

It says that it is connected when in fact it doesnt connect to any websites.

I have called my service carrier and they said that it is a problem with the laptop not them.

Oh and I called acer and they said they cant help because the warranty is up.
