The answer to error 57E... OK I just had a long conversation with the microsoft company. Error 57e is a registry error (corruption) According to them the only way to fix it is to have an microsoft engineer work on the pc as it requires files to be downloaded that available only to them. Sorry it isn't great news but that's what I got out of the company.

I had this problem and i uninstalled internet explorer 8 and i then was able to install all error 57e updates ok. regards
