Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working...
by: Bob

As of 9/24, the same thing started happing with my Vista Premium system. I can run Word, Excel, etc. (Office 7), but a couple of seconds after starting Outlook, I get a message that says first, "Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working... A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I tried a system restore from a checkpoint save back on the 21st, but it made no difference. I installed no s/w, or made any other changes to my system that might account for this. I do have an HP OfficeJet L7590, and MS OneCare. Otherwise, nothing unusual. Any Ideas?

Wow...

OK, I don't know what happened with you, but when we bought our new Vista Home Premium equipped PC, we wondered what sort of Microsoft Works or Office setup we had. We soon discovered we had both Works and a trial version of Office. This trial version of Office had to be activated and would last, if I remember correctly, 90 days. Where's the scam in that? It's to be expected that if you don't get Vista Ultimate, you don't get the entire package, and some nice features such as Office won't be included. We were somewhat disappointed when we found out we did not in fact get a full version of Office, yes... but we also recognized that it was after all Vista Home Premium, and that for home use Office is usually not necessary. And we weren't expecting to get any Office at all. So for us this trial was a nice little bonus. I haven't done my homework on this, but I would bet that business-targeted Vista packages, or Vista Ultimate would include Office.

It's only a trial version

Sad to say I had the same thing happen today. After a long online chat with Microsoft I was directed to HP. They failed to let us poor unsuspecting buyers know that Office 2007 is only a TRIAL VERSION and after so many pre-determined days of use it reverts back to the 2003 version. So we have to purchase the entire office 2007 suite or buy it piecemeal. What a Scam job this is. HP offered to sell me the full version for $399! Can't repeat what I said to them.

Good Luck
