Same problem here, after updating a critical update yesterday, it freezes like 5 mins after i switch it on and then nothing works cant even get the task manager open with "Ctrl+ALT+DEL" have to press the off button on the tower and restart, done a system restore to a week before the update, and still no luck :(

I don't know what to tell you but I am having the same problem! My system went through automatic updates about 2 weeks ago and now it happens everytime I open it. It is driving me crazy.
