Yeah, after finding your question while searching for the same thing (I'm using it for my car though) I followed the groundspeak link it connected fine.

Hi Bud,

Don't know if you've already found a solution but I had the same need today. I dug some and followed the steps at this website: http://www.infinityvisions.com/PDTS/VSD-PD-VISTA.htm Because I was already set up as an administrator, I only had to follow the steps shown at the bottom of the page under the section labeled "USB-Serial Cable Installation"

Everything worked as stated and I now have a working connection to my GPS unit in Vista.
