New Memory Installed

I just upgraded my ram from 2Gb to 4Gb and when I look on system properties it shows on 3.096 of system memory. Where is the other Gb.?
Toshiba Satellite A135-S4487 laptop with 200 pin 667 Mhz DDr2 ram.
