No more automatic updates after SP1 (error 80070424)

It seems to me, that after the installation of SP1, my VISTA 64 ultimate has disabled any automatic updating.

I've goggled around and tried many of the trickiest hints how to overcome this VISTA illness . . . . without any success.

I do not intend to reinstall the whole crap from scratch again!
