I have Windows Vista with office on my computer. All the forums I can find say that you have to have Outlook to sync with the smartphones (i am trying to change from the horrifying Iphone to a Q9-- I do not have the dexterity for a touch screen and i do not appreciate the thing turning itself on and calling people or running the ipod til the battery is dead etc etc.).

But when I try to get a download of Outlook- it directs me to Office 07 which I already have.. but it runs Windows mail rather than Outlook. So even with the 6.1 syncing patch... the phone can't sync, because it apparantly only syncs to Outlook, not windows mail or contacts or calendar. I do hate the iphone, but it at least syncs to everything but my calendar. It appears that an apple computer paired with a blackberry is likely the best solution out there. I am regretting buying a pc with Vista even more than I am regretting buying an iphone.

Vista is buggy, the best part about a pc was that it wasn't a mac... XP was a good, stable system. I think a bunch of engineers wanted to make sure they had something to do and Bill wanted to make everyone have to upgrade and stimulate the microsoft based support services economy. I am not a mac fan, but next time i buy new equipment, because of how much Vista sucks, unless I can locate a solution (like fining a needle in a haystack so far) I will definitely go with mac.

That's my story. Finding it hard to imagine there are any positive ones out there. Happy holidays....
