You need to download the lastest version of palm desktop, 6.2 and you can download this from the palm website.

If you are using 32 bit windows you should have no problems. If you are using 64 bit windows, there is a compatibility issue with the USB port and the palm device. I have found 2 solutions the first is to get a bluetooth dongle and palm have instructions on how to connect the 2.

The second way I came up with is to connect through the LAN. I have setup my Tx to connect to the net using my local WiFi. Once I had 6.2 installed I told the the Tx to hot sync through the network and gave it the IP address for my local computer. It works great

I was concerned as I have been syncing my palm through the network for some time but the desktop software always required the first sync to be from the cable, this is not the case with 6.2

Good Luck

Palm TX vs. Vista 64
by: Brian

It sounds like I have the same problem as everybody else. I heard that I can us WiFi to hotsync. I have not been able to do it yet. It says that there is a connectivity problem. Any ideas? Right now I, along with everybody else, have a $300 drink coaster

Palm has had plenty of time to fix this problem, looks like the market share has dropped to the point they don't see the need for a fix for us as owners of the product. I don't want to keep a backup non (Vista) computer system so I can sync.

I've come to rely on the manufactures to keep ahead of the curve, sometimes I forget it's not a perfect world.

Palm Desktop and Vista 64
by: Anonymous

Palm has not released a verson of Desktop that will work with Vista 64 bit. I don't see anything on their website that states whether they will anytime soon. If you google, vista 64 and palm deskptop, there are a few listings about using a bluetooth with the palm. You may try that.

Vista 64 and Palm TX
by: Ellen

I have found that USB hotSync does not work with vista 64-bit. You should be able to use wifi or bluetooth hotsync. I use wifi, and it works fine. Hope this helps!
