Problems noted on a new laptop that came with Visa Home Premium version.
1. Using two windows of Explore, I highlight files I want to copy over to my USB removable drive. As I drag them into the second window where the G: drive shows the USB, this annoying window comes up to ask me to sign into Windows Live Messenger." If I repeat the process several times, it finally allows me to do it.
2. Noticing a bunch of problems with my Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 and Adobe Premiere 4.0 software.
3. Using IE I attempted to download from the Adobe site, using their Akami Download Manager. I found out that there were problems within IE. I installed Firefox and was immediately able to download easily.
4. The laptop now takes 4-5 minutes to load up from a power on setting. The operating system must be doing this, because once it's up and running, it functions.
5. Norton Anti Virus that came with Vista keeps coming up with windows that say my firewall is turned off and that my security updates are "not up to date". However, the main Norton control window says everything is fine.
6. Using Explore that has stars and ratings column categories etc, it took me forever to realize that metatag data from Photoshop or other photo management software must be written to the photos in that software before they will appear in Explore. Why don't you tell people about this with a small window containing this information within Explore?
7. I've read many blogs about problems with Vista and other hardware and software companies. Essentially, I purchased a laptop and I am stuck with Vista now. I would like to revert to XP, but the retailer geeks tell me that may not work because most of the newer PC's coming out now won't work with XP, as they are designed to work with Vista. I must say that this is causing me a real headache and undue stress for me to have to deal with geek stuff most every night I turn on my PC. You guys need to get the patches out as quick as possible.
