Windows Vista Update

I have a HP laptop using windows vista software....I had to replace the mother board and during that process, whoever was doing that reloaded a Windows vista trial version instead of reloading the original version.

The trial version has expired after its validity date and now when i switch on the lap top, it asks for an activation code.

Please assist urgently as i am stuck with lot of important and pending work to be done.
