Screensaver password

I set a password for my screensaver in Windows Vista. It worked just fine for 3 days. Suddenly today it won't recognize my password or let me past the screensaver! It gives me an "incorrect password" message.
How did this happen?
And more importantly,
How do I fix it?
I can no longer access anything on my pc at all.
Please help.
