As everyone knows, people hate change. I would put myself in to that category as the os i have been using (for what seems like a very long time) is xp home, loved the system and all the features, i know it like the back of my hand.
This system itself isnt exactly without its flaws, going back to when xp was first released i can remember speaking to a retailer about my pc constantly crashing,he then told me that xp had been released with over 14000 bugs in it,im not entirely sure if these are true figures, but the system was a real pain to work with in the beginning.
Nobody seems to bring up these rather small and obviously insignificant details.
VISTA is a dirty word in some of my circle of friends, one of which is a software developer, the other a computer retailer,i went ahead and bought a new pc with vista home premium,i have had a few problems with driver issues ,but my main gripe is only 1 thing really , that is the CALCULATING TIME REMAINING, i moved a dvd i had stored on 1 disk to an external disk, the pc told me this would take 23 days, as i didnt really want to wait this long i minimized the message and looked at it in 5 mins ,it had sorted the problem out ,but was still moving it,it took about 8 mins in all,but as the system has bedded it slf in so to speak, with updates and beta sp1 the problem seems to be getting resolved.
i personally think that VISTA will be the main os sooner rather than later .
on a downside,a few components in my new pc decided they had had enough and stopped working(broken hdd, ram stick),i had to use my 11 year old daughters pc which has xp on it,and truthfully it is just not capable of the amount of work vista can take on.(namely running multiple applications without a drop in performance.
