Windows Vista Update

trouble with Skype and my NVIDIA driver not working... is this related to Windows Vista?

Hi there,
When I am using Skype on my laptop ( only one year older), after about 5 minutes or so, my screen will go black, so I have no control at all but I can hear the other person still for a minute or so and then Windows shuts down my computer and then gives me the blue screen messages where I can open in safe mode.

Does anyone know the solution?

I've just reloaded the newest NVIDIA driver and no change resulted.. I do not put my laptop on a soft surface so the CPU gets too hot.
