Unscheduled USB shutdown

by Antony Von Behr
(New Orleans)

While using my AT&T USBConnect 881 wireless internet card for my laptop which is a HP Pavilion dv9000. The net will stay up for anywhere from an hour to about three.

Then page will freeze up. When I try to refresh the page, I get a notice saying the page has timed out. I X out the page or pages then go to the Communication Center to disconnect then reconnect to the net. I get a notice saying no hardware found.

I have to reboot the whole system to bring the net back up. I made sure I had the updated software for the aircard. When I asked around, I was told that Vista will shut down the USB connections with some hardware.

If this is true, is there anything that can be done. I really hate freezing up in the middle of a game... I mean big business meetings over the net.
