I bought a PC ready loaded with Vista Ultimate 64 bit about three weeks ago and it is fast, roughly 6 times as fast as my old machine for saving big files (2gb to 4gb) to memory stick.
However I am having problems, although you need to allow for the fact that I am a software user not a techie.
Trying to get sound through my speakers is proving almost impossible. I managed it once but wanted to upgrade my speakers a bit and now can't get the new or old speakers to work at all.
I can't back up recorded television programmes from my Humax Personal Video Recorder because the available driver doesn't appear to be acceptable to Vista.
I haven't yet managed to upload any of my Anquet maps. The mapping software loads okay but not the maps themselves (when I try and load the maps they can't find the software to link themselves to). In fairness Anquet support are being very helpful in trying to sort this out for me.
I haven't tried attaching my printer yet or installing MS Office yet.
I wish I had asked for 32 bit to be installed for the next year or so while all the software and driver writers catch up with Vista 64 bit.
