Oh boy, where to start....
Aero? No thank you, Compiz-Fusion has so many more features than Aero. Seriously, Flip 3D is so cheesy and it doesn't even have wobbly windows!
Sidebar? Already have that for Gnome & KDE
WMP? This is about the most bloated media player I've ever used and it doesn't even play ogg files! Use Media Player Classic or VLC.
Search? If you need to search your folders, organize them a little better!
Parental Controls? Tried it, they don't work at all.
UAC? Comes from gksu in Linux, except it doesn't even prompt for a password! Oh no, all the hard work Microsoft did is now worthless!
Firewall? Linux has had that for years. Who knows, maybe they'll get SEWindows with extra DRM protection!
The Start Menu is a mess and makes it harder to find thing, imo. Also, if you look at that Explorer window for Vista, notice that things like File, Edit, View, etc. are missing! Yes folks, Vista officially destroys years of standards on the GUI. I still have issues trying to make new folders in Vista.
So, is Vista an XP replacement? If you listen to M$, they say yes. However, XP is still being supported, so just use that (or switch to Linux).
Speed on Vista sucks. After you apply all of the updates, it takes literally 5 mintues to load & 600MB+ RAM to do it.
Verdict on Vista? Stay away from me!
