Windows Vista Update

vista doesn't recognise sata dvd burner

hello,
i'm running a new system asus crossfire motherboard,4 gb of memory,(2) 512 mb Nvidia 8600 graphic cards an AMD athlon 64 x2/6400 /3.2 ghz processor,seagate 250gb hdd sata 2
my problem is vista won't recognise my lite on sata dvd burner. it shows up in the bios. but not once windows is up and running. anyone have idea on thefix? all parts and drives are new
