when you say nobody uses something what you should be saying is. "I DON"T USE IT SO IT IS USELESS TO ME"
you say there are no xp drivers for your laptop LOL. let me tell you a secret the hardware on your laptop is nothing more than hardware you can buy from any manufacture. if your laptop uses an ati video adapter then find out what it is then go to the amd/ati website and get the xp drivers for that device. same go's for all the other devices on your laptop burn them or put them on a jump drive buy a copy of xp and install it.
as far as the warranty go's if you bought an xp system when it first came out and you wanted to go back to win98 or win2k the warranty was void. thats just the way things are and has nothing to do with vista.
and another thing i would do is decrap your laptop. you might find it rans a lot better.
and as far as games go i have never seen a laptop that plays games very well. unless you shell out mega cash for an Alienware or something simalar.
