Windows Vista Update

Vista is terrible for losing drivers for lite on products...

when i ran Vista Home premuim (32 bit) it kept losing my lite on dvdrw sohw-1633s ata device as well as the cd lite on ltr-52327s ata device and now i'm running Vista Ultimate (64bit) and it won't show either drive,

ive been looking all over the net for the drivers but keep coming up with driver detetive and others like it ie fix ya and nothing seems to find the drivers i need this is crazy and why microsoft can't fix this problem is beyond me!
