Vista SP1 Update crash
by: VistaLover

The same on my Packard Bell laptop.

AND now Restauration in no more possible.

We can say that Windows is not an OS, as Unix or DOS, but it's a kind of virus installed in almost all the computers of the world.

I gonna buy a Unix station or an Apple.

Thank you, Windows, for all the hours we loose because of your world wide sheet.

Same thing happened to me!!
by: Anonymous

I have a Toshiba x205 Satellite running Vista and tried to download and install SP1. The same exact thing happened to me. Just a black screen and code flashing, all day and all night.

Was told at first the only thing to do is format the hard drive, then I said well let me think about it, I was borrowing a computer... and then the tech called back and said there may be other fixes which I have yet to try.

Anyway, same thing my computer is out of warranty and this is very frustrating. I can't believe how this update could destroy my whole setup and there is nothing I can really do about it except hope someone somewhere has a solution. I was told only about 1 or 2 % of computers running Vista have this problem but still that's a pretty significant amount of computers!!!

Well anyway if I find out something new I will post here. This is really frustrating and really unfair. If I had not been worried about security problems resulting from NOT installing the SP1 you can be sure I would not have bothered as I was having so much trouble downloading and installing it even before this problem came up.

Pamela also in NC.
