Vista SP1 Crash

by John Ezell
(Rocky Mount, NC, USA)

My dell 1520 running just super and saw SP1 update was availible. Viewed what to know
before installing. Then I started the installation. Four hours nothing, Five hours later nothing. Six hours later, a black screen with code running. Left it running all
night, with power cord the whole time. Now boots up to no rebotable drives. Tried all
three options nothing.
Microsoft has help me get my data off computer. When my computer arrived it had a lot
of disk but no recovery disk. I contacted dell and they are sending me one. They also
stated serveral times no tech support, since my warranty was up 2 months ago. Iam fine
with that. I just have problem with microsoft, they sent my the update. I have seen a
lot of bad stuff about it thru out the web. Should i have to research every update they
send my way now. Even when calling Microsoft, they have added sp1 update problem option. They also said that it must be hardware conflict.
My laptop has no other added software, or hardware added.

My time worry with updating 4-6 Hr.s failed
No. of time talking with Dell on phone to get what they didnt send me (disk) 2
3-5 days delivery.
No. of calls to microsoft 4
No. of calls from Microsoft 8
countless hours of trouble just for sp1 which has lock up my computer.
Thank so very much Microsoft, Please keep your Updates. I already have enough trouble.
