Seems there is no reason for more than 2GB of RAM since there are no apps or very few with can access more than 2 GB.
Most only access 2GB and no more. EAX doesn't work so games don't have the sound effects like you would have with XP. My understanding is the games and sound devices have to support OpenAL. Even IE which comes with the 64 bit version of vista is 64 bit but only one icon/shortcut accesses.
The most easily accessible IE shortcuts start up the 32 bit version. Seems like 64 bit apps still are not ready for prime time or something. Otherwise I would expect the IE shortcut to default to the 64 bit version. That aside, here is my list of incompatible games: SimBin, GRT2, Race07. EA Nascar SimRacing, Quake 2, (yes I still play quake 2).
Working games: Need for speed Underground and Pro Street. Papyrus Nascar Racing 2003 Season, UT2004, Quake 3 and 4, Doom3 but since it doesn't support OpenAL it won't work with more than 2 speakers.
