I have been using Vista Home Premium since I updgraded my DELL XPS M1210 laptop with MCE 2005 and I must say I'm very pleased with Vista.
I found it more secure and reliable than XP and BSODs are things of the past.
I believe that Vista is suffering the same bad news that Xp had in its beginnings, and people were afraid of leaving Windows 98, even a campaign was made to save Windows 98.
It seems people forget too fast history and differently from 6 years ago, computers evolve much faster up to the point that at the moment you buy a pc it is already obselete.
The article does have a point, but I believe that many of those that had problems with Vista tried to install it in a system that didn't compy with the requirements or at least never tried the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor to know exactly what problems can be solved before installing.
I have been using Vista with games from even 1998 and they work fine. Another point that many of these analysts forget is that they don't count Vista's piracy as part of the number of users that use or buy Vista.
I mean, there are more users using Vista but is not because they are buying it but rather because they are downloading via torrents or other sites. So numbers are not always right, and yes piracy existed with Xp but not with the today's levels.
To those that thing Vista is useless, I recommend you read the Vista Product Guide which is FREE from Microsoft and is a very nice document that shows Vista's features.
Once you understand Vista and learn how to use its improvements (aero and flip are not the only things) you will never go back to Xp. And besides, Xp looks cartoonish and old...just like a 6 year old OS.
Also consider this, to Xp be side-by-side with Vista's security you need SP3 which include all the other SPs, so think about it.
Vista is secure and more reliable than Xp or even Leopard.
