Why after upgrading Windows Vista Service Pack 2 am I not able to connect to the Internet?

I upgraded Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 and after restarting like recommended I could no longer connect.

I have DSL.


I tried everything until I just decided to go ahead and uninstall the service pack. It worked and now I'm connecting to the net as usual.


Why did this happen and is it known problem? How do I upgrade but still be able to connect to the net???
