Why can't I have two printers online with Vista?

by Brenda
(Burlington, Ontario, Canada)

Purchased a new compaq desktop with Vista. Installed updated drivers for Epson Stylus CZ5800F all-in-one printer and Kodak EasyShare PD6000.

I should be able to just select which printer I want to use in the print window, but I can't. I can't use either printer unless the other printer is 'offline'.

So, when I want to switch from printing on my Epson to printing a photograph, I must go into the control panel, into printers, and put the Epson offline, and select the Kodak as my default printer.

Surely there is an easier way? What am I missing?
