The problem was not Vista, it was CMOS. I had to disable all restart options such as wake on lan and etc. Once I did that it works great. The only other problems I have had was CD/DVD not recognized and not starting the desktop. The solution for CD was to delete the upper and lower filters in the registry. As for the desktop problem I went to system config and unchecked all but regular startup services. After rechecking them two or three at a time I found the subroutines that was causing the problem. I have had no further problems. I suspect that most peoples problems are that they try to install and run programs that Vista will not support. No Win95 and few Win98 programs will run under Vista. Xp has few if any problems. I like Vista.
