Window Vista Slow ???

I was using XP Home before, my old notebook was 1GB RAM, recently I got a new notebook with Window Vista Home and the PC came with 3GB RAM and it seems to be works slow?

I'm thingking of downgrading to XP Pro or Home. Will I be able to get it at a discouted price since I have paid for Vista Home already.
