Windows Gripes

by Jon Tan
(Philippines)

To be honest, I am writing this because I want a windows vista ultimate.

My love life with with windows started during the Intel 486 computer series.

Why? I guess I don't have a choice. I am from the Philippines, south of the Philippines.

Back then, technology is very slow and very expensive. Having a computer is a luxury only the super rich can afford. Luckily, I have super rich friends.

I have the opportunity to use their computers. I have used windows ever since it debuted with 3.1. So how do I rate my windows experience? I love it.

Not only is it available, licensed or pirated, it's challenging to use it. Yes, it has many shortcomings, but whose software has not? I said challenging to use it because it tests your skills in dealing with these shortcomings.

With vista, it is just another stage of meeting these challenges. If you like computer games, you would like vista because you are constantly looking for ways to enhance your computer skills. With regards to its features, there is not much difference with other operating systems.

I guess you can say that I am comfortable with windows. I like vista's search functions. It's very easy in looking for files that you forgot where you put it.

As for the aero experience, it's fun to have it for a while but in the long run it disturbs your efficiency. What i hate about vista is its incompatibility with old hardware and its difficulty in installing softwares.

As with all windows os, it is still very slow in booting up your computer, especially when you have so many start up programs.

As I've said, I'm comfortable with windows, and I would not change to other os even if somebody gives me a free copy of it.
