I have to say I've had the same problem running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I don't know why it happens, but the same pattern is there- insert a USB-based storage device (be it a flash drive, or a portable HD) and the system completely freezes. What's worked for the moment was to simply revert to a previous system restore point- one that was freeze-free before you out in any USB's... For the moment, that's all that seems to be working for me. Garth

... on a Amilo Pi 1536 with Vista Ultimate. When I insert a USB flash drive into one of the USB ports, Windows Explorer freezes. Trying to access the USB drive makes the Explorer turn "white", i.e. unresponsive. This happens with all three USB ports. Only when removing the USB drive again, the Explorer works again and the ususal dialgue appears asking what to do with the files on the USB drive. This behaviour destroys the file system on the USB drive, what I´ve noticed when my Creative Stone MP3 Player showed a file system error right after the problem mentioned above. Then, it's not possible to format the drive as Windows Explorer freezes again when inserting the drive. Has anyone experienced this issue already? I suppose there is a problem with the Amilo mainboard causing this issue. Also, the Amilo's screen shows some vertical lines. These systems seem to fail very quickly (mine: after 1.5 years, too). But this is another story... Thanks for hints Peter
