regedit
by: Anonymous

go to start, type regedit, enter
then go to hkey/current user/software/classes/localsetting/software/microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/TrayNotify. Delete iconstream and pasticonstream. Go to task manager, processes, delete explorer.exe. It will make your taskbar and icon on desktop dissapear. so, Go to task manager(ctrl+alt+del), click file menu, new task, type explorer, then push enter.

Think it is a explorer.exe problem
by: zotamus

Hi,

i Believe the problem with the taskbar that I was talking about above is caused by the file "explorer.exe" getting corrupted - this the file that controls the taskbar. I don't know how I would repair this file since it is a system file and I don't know where to get a clean copy of it. Any thoughts?

Thanks
